Treat for the clerks

Last week we ran out of room to include this 'rather wonderful' cake, as described and photographed by Richard Ogden, which was made for the lucky BYM clerks by Niladri, a member of Brighouse MM and proprietor of new ethical company Chocolala.

Eye had spotted his tempting adverts in The Friend and we were delighted to meet Niladri in person and find out what it was like to be following in the footsteps of our chocolatier forefathers.

Niladri tells us that the business is going well and he is constantly refining his techniques for the handmade chocolate. However, he is now facing the onerous task of writing his marketing strategy and we noted that our outgoing production manager wasted no time in inviting him to send some samples 'for review' to the office, marked for her attention. Well, we suppose it saves money on a leaving present...
