'Chuckle' Fager tickles the readers

Eye is waiting with anticipation for some hilarious alternatives to Quaker clichés in the wake of Chuck Fager's recent piece on the language Friends use (27 June). While we're waiting for some of your linguistic innovations, here's a verse from Kurt Strauss, a Friend in York:
I often get a queasy turn
When hearing the Quaker cliché 'discern'.
Is it now a touch too crude
To use 'establish', 'find', 'conclude'?
