Helen Meads and Susan Robson explain the process behind the book
The Quaker Condition
Have you contributed to a Quaker research project in the last few years? Have you answered a yes/no questionnaire, reflected in an interview, or been in a group that has focused on a particular topic? If so, you may find your contribution nestling quietly and anonymously in a footnote in this book. You will also find other people’s contributions on different subjects, and be able to scan a panorama of Quaker life in the twenty-first century. Not surprisingly (or, if it is a surprise, you are in special need of the book), you will find more questions than answers. But what are the questions that contemporary Quakers are asking?
We suspect that the process was more ‘Quakerish’ than most
