News from Meeting for Sufferings
‘Quaker Life exists for no lesser purpose than to ensure that the spiritual life of every member of every Meeting… can be enriched and deepened’, explained Gerald Hewitson of Quaker Life central committee. Gerald explained that the key areas that Quaker Life works in are faith and practice, diversity and inclusion, children and young people, Meeting house staff, outreach and pastoral care. He also noted that the twenty-six staff have a passion for excellence to do it right and well, they have an unyielding search for improvement, they work with serenity and they’re trying to do God’s work as they understand it to reveal the kingdom in every day life. Being on Quaker Life central committee, ‘this experience fills with me with awe, humility and enormous delight’, said Gerald.
