Two Friends, Stevie Krayer and Paul Casey, shared some experience of spiritual nurture at Meeting for Sufferings

‘Poetry is one of my most important sources of spiritual nurture’, said Stevie Krayer as she presented her personal experience of spiritual nurture. Stevie read out Emily Dickinson’s poem, ‘Hunger’ (http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/english/melani/cs6/hungry.html). Stevie explained that while initially she had found this poem helpful, she had later written a poem that was 'not quite as noble as Emily’ in response. She also drew on the writing of Brother Lawrence and then explained that with twenty years experience of being a Quaker, she knows not to panic when she can't find the Light switch in the dark.
