Christian Climate Action (CCA) launched a table last month showing the extent of fossil-fuel funding within the Church of England. The table reveals which cathedrals still bank with fossil-fuel-funding banks and which say they plan to switch. The aim is to ‘encourage more cathedrals to bank ethically’. Currently, Derby is the only cathedral that uses a bank that does not invest in the fossil-fuel industry. Eight others have pledged to switch in the near future, says CCA. These are Birmingham, Bristol, Chelmsford, Durham, Southwark, Sheffield, Truro and Worcester.
