Colchester Friends bring together military and peace experts
Verbal sparks may ignite in Colchester Town Hall next week as military, academic and political heavyweights take part in a panel debate organised by local Quakers.
The meeting is the culmination of a series of public events organised by Colchester Friends as they seek to put the peace testimony into practice. The speakers will include Patrick Cordingley, a major-general who commanded the so-called ‘Desert Rats’ in the Gulf war of 1991. He will be joined by former anti-sleaze MP Martin Bell and the distinguished professor of peace studies, Paul Rogers.
